Electricity and renewables: power on

During this session, Carbon4 Finance presented the Carbon Impact Analytics (CIA) methodology, with sectorial analyst experts discussing the specificities of the electricity and renewables sector and the key insights from a recent study. 

Indeed, electricity companies play a strategic role in the energy transition, both by decarbonizing their own operations and by enabling electrification in other sectors like transport and industry. However, those still reliant on fossil fuels, especially coal, face significant transition risks amid increasing regulatory pressure and renewable energy growth. The best-performing companies are those that prioritize low-carbon and renewable energy sources. While renewable integration is advancing globally, coal remains dominant in Asia due to rising electricity demand, unlike in Europe and North America where its use has sharply declined.
